I just binge read your archives. I really like the story, the character developement and the flashbacks. Your art is very nice too. Thanks a lot for sharing your comic.

Thanks for the response. That sucks that you lost it all. I have been experimenting with evernote for writing/plot outlines. I love it. I use it for business (graphic designer) and personal. I have been trying to figure out a way to use it for comics. I would like to keep everything digital, but nothing works exactly the way I would like. I think post it notes on a cork board may be best for me.

Well, funny you should ask about that. I had used an iPad app called Corkulous. Back when I first got my iPad I was all about using various apps to aid in my process for this. I eventually moved away from the app approach but still had my entire outline living within that app.

At some point I upgraded my iPad or something and wound up losing a ton of apps and their data and of course that was one of them. So, at least as far as I know, my digital post-it note outline for Nathan Sorry is gone forever. So, at this point I'm mostly following a written outline I have from some proposals for the book.

I still recommend that post-it note approach though. There's probably some other apps out there like that and probably some better cloud-based options for saving what you create.

Long time fan. Just was able to start catching up after a long break. You mentioned your "digital post-it note board ". I would love to know what program you use for that. Anything about your process there would be awesome. I did a search and couldn't find a reference to it on the site. Thanks! Great job, keep it up.

Yeah, the RSS issue might be a dealbreaker if I can't find a workaround for it. I feel like less people are relying on RSS feeds these days but there's still enough of you out there obviously that I'd hate to remove that option for following along.

Monica, I feel like I'd be screwing you over two ways with this change. It might mess up the RSS system AND it would deny my only regular commenter (for which I'm always grateful) from commenting on each update.

I don't like the What Things Do system. The RSS links don't take you directly to the new page, and you end up loading the whole history of a long-running comic every time you want to read a new page. I have decent broadband and reading new pages of Keeping Two is still a time-suck. Can't be great for the hosting bandwidth either, serving lots of images that just get scrolled past.

Thanks, Monica! Something that took me a number of pages in the beginning to figure out was to plan where your dialogue and and narration would sit during the thumbnail stage. This not only helps avoid clutter and needing to cover up important parts of the drawing but it gives you more control over the pacing and how each page should read.
